Norm Stevens – Owner
Norm, the operating member was born in Durban in 1964. He grew up and attended school in Durban
where his main interests were on the rugby and cricket fields.
In 1982 on leaving school he was conscripted to do his national service in the South African Police
where he served until 1986. This was in the height of the conflict between the ANC and the old
In 1990 he moved to Cape Town and into corporate sales and marketing. The corporate environment
was not for him and in 1999 he bought a liquor store where his interest in wine was awoken in 1999.
He acquired a great deal of knowledge about the industry in South Africa by interacting with wine
merchants and makers, attending courses and buying from trade shows. Sadly due to an unfortunate
incident he was forced to sell 7 years later.
A quick foray into another business was not what he wanted, and he realized that enjoying what he was
doing was the more important than money. His passion and enjoyment was in wine, and tourism and
was a career that was to be explored.
He started as a specialist Wine tourguide and business has progressed to what it is today.
Norm is married to Sally-Ann and they have 2 children. Kirsten, a qualified foundation phase teacher and
Dane who is presently studying Property at UCT. Most weekends you will find the family on or around
the sports fields of Cape Town supporting schools and club sports with friends.
